What's great about the DeLonghi Bread Maker?
Touch Screen Controls: With plenty of features, you would probably imagine that the DeLonghi Bread Maker would be complicated to use. The opposite is true of this terrific machine. The DeLonghi Bread Maker has simple touch screen controls that allow you to access the bread maker's standard program options or your own custom program options. The touch screen is easy to read and easy to clean. Simply wipe the screen with a damp cloth to remove fingerprints and any leftover ingredients and you are ready for your next bread making adventure. The buttons are integrated into the display area and are level enough to avoid catching debris.

Fan Assisted Baking Option: The fan assisted baking option is a unique feature to the DeLonghi Bread Maker. This little addition to the bread machine takes most of the moisture out of the bread dough as it bakes, creating crisper crusts. The temperature selection allows you to choose the darkness of your bread crust with 3 standard settings. The fan assisted option gives you even coloring with very minimal effort.

Viewing Area and Interior Light: The DeLonghi Bread Maker has a unique lid that gives you a bird's eye view of your bread while it is in process. You can watch the kneading, mixing, and the baking of each loaf of bread. The bread maker also has a handy interior lighting system so that you can monitor the rise and darkening of each bread loaf crust. This lighted interior makes clean up a snap since you can actually see if you have missed any debris in the interior of the bread maker.
Standard Programs and Custom Programs: The DeLonghi Bread Maker has 15 internal standard programming options and 5 custom programming options. The variety of breads and doughs that can be made is endless. The custom programming options make the DeLonghi a rarity among inexpensive bread making machines. The 15 standard programs include favorites like white sandwich bread, honey wheat bread, and even pumpernickel and rye bread. These programmed cycles allow you to insert all of your ingredients and simply walk away from the bread machine. The DeLonghi does all of the work for you. Once you have set up your custom bread programs, baking your own bread recipes becomes a breeze.

Rapid Bake Function and Timers: The DeLonghi offers a rapid bake function that creates a perfect loaf of bread in less than 1 hour from start to finish. This means that you place the ingredients into the bread machine and in 58 minutes you have a warm loaf of fresh bread. The delay timer allows you to set the DeLonghi Bread Maker to begin a baking cycle up to 13 hours in advance.

Automatic Fruit and Nut Dispenser: The fully automatic fruit and nut dispenser gives the DeLonghi Bread Maker another advantage over other bread machines. This handy option allows you to place fruit or nuts into the dispenser and not worry about timing their input into the dough. Once filled, the dispenser automatically places the nuts or fruit into the dough at the perfect mixing time.

What's not so great about the DeLonghi Bread Maker?

Price: The DeLonghi Bread Maker is not the least expensive bread maker on the market. It is double or even triple the cost of many of the other common bread machines. That old adage "you get what you pay for" is true with the DeLonghi Bread Maker. You really do get plenty of options with this bread machine. Unfortunately, the amateur bread baker might not want to spend the cash on this bread machine.

Size: At over 15 inches wide at the base and weighing almost 25 pounds, the DeLonghi Bread Maker is not a tiny bread machine. This bread maker is going to look great on your counter, but it is also going to take up some counter top real estate.

Is the DeLonghi Bread Maker a great purchase?

The DeLonghi Bread Maker is a spectacular purchase for the person who really loves their bread. The custom programming settings are a terrific addition to any bread maker, and they make the DeLonghi one of the top models. Along with a great bread maker, you get a book full of delicious bread recipes. There really is no end to the wonderful loaves of bread that you can create between the interior programs and the custom programs available on the DeLonghi. For the price, this bread machine is well worth purchasing.
